The Story
Thermal and infrared readings from the Marshall Islands converted into vegetal healing. The dyes render the invisibility of the pacific nuclear past and its impending climate catastrophe visible in the form of the same aestheticization of violence conducted by departments of atomic energy of the Global North. It attempts to transform the metallic time of technology into the deep time of the earth. To use ancestral wisdom while releasing the traumas of the past, imagining a different future where the vulnerable are not extinguished by imperialist, techno-solutionist methodologies but survive, and thrive.
The Artist
Himali Singh Soin is a writer and artist based between London and Delhi. She uses metaphors from outer space and the natural environment to construct imaginary cosmologies of interferences and entanglements. In doing this, she thinks through ecological loss and the loss of home, seeking shelter somewhere in the radicality of love.
