The Story

DNA, Acrylic on Canvas, 60×78″, Los Angeles, 2024, is more than a painting—it’s an interactive art piece and a statement of unity, brought to life through public performances across Los Angeles. Displayed with a powerful message, “At the core, we are one,” this artwork invited participants to leave a golden mark on the canvas, symbolizing our shared essence and the reality that human DNA is 99.9% identical. Through this public performance, I sought to spark a different kind of dialogue—a reminder that our commonality can be the foundation of every conversation, especially in a world often defined by division. Each golden mark represents each participant’s unique presence within a universal pattern, uniting strangers in a shared, powerful experience. DNA artwork is an act of activism, aiming to break down the barriers that divide us. It’s a call to recognize our fundamental oneness and to begin viewing each interaction from a place of shared humanity. This piece is a gentle yet profound reminder that, beneath all differences, we are connected, woven together by the same thread of life.
