Prof. Emanuele Carpanzano is a leading figure in applied research and industrial innovation. As Director of Research, Development, and Knowledge Transfer at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI), he has overseen numerous international, national, and regional R&D initiatives, bridging academia and industry.
A full professor of industrial engineering, Emanuele’s work focuses on automation systems, digitalized production, and AI-powered industrial transformation—including the evolving role of humans in increasingly intelligent value chains. He is an active contributor to major scientific bodies, including CIRP and the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences (SATW).
Author of over 140 scientific publications and several patents, he also serves as an expert advisor and reviewer for leading European research and innovation programs, helping shape the future of manufacturing and applied science.
