After working and gaining some experience in finance, public relations and the art world, I decided to get involved in the world of physical commodities. I experienced some rewarding and challenging 8 years at one of the global leaders in commodities trading - Trafigura. As part of the mining team, we operated mines in 9 countries, ensuring they reach highest global standards and have impeccable management and leadership. Today, I am a co-founder of a scrap trading company and involved in real estate projects.
Offer
Having worked in the mining industry globally, I've been involved in multiple projects related to behavioral change among cultural diversity, improving well-being and safety of workers in heavy environments, creating sustainable projects at site and for near-by communities, recognition programs on various basis, responsible implementation of projects to reduce CO2 emissions etc. Improvements in responsible and sustainable mining, drastic change in the health and safety of workers, satisfied people in close communities and ongoing care of the environment are just a few outcomes that I have seen and would like to see more and more globally in the mining world. Therefore, a positive connotation to mining should be created and earth should be approached in the most responsible way, openly. A simple but rather impactful project was the talent recognition of workers beyond their day-to-day work responsibility at the mines. They were given the opportunity to express their vulnerability through any forms of art and this vividly improved their work environment and helped for better concentration, less injuries and more open, happier mindsets.
NEED
Mining being a niche, it is not always easy to find the leaders that want to ensure not only highest production, but also to spend the time and effort to create beyond the norm. A committee as such of impactful people may be of a great help to the world of heavy industries, ensuring topics that are often neglected, appear at page 1; improving awareness and most importantly sharing the know-how.
